Minutes:

The Service Delivery Manager: Policy & Governance presented the Community Governance Review 2025 report.

Members were reminded of the process that started in September 2023, which had been completed in September 2024. The outcome of the process concluded that no changes to parish arrangements within the Borough would be made at that time.

Following agreement at the previous committee meeting it was set out that the next Community Governance Review would take place this year in 2025.It was explained to the committee  how the process should take place. A key element of this being to maximise engagement for stakeholders, parish councils, key partners, borough councillors, MPs and community groups. The Service Delivery Manager: Policy & Governance presented the timetable (set out at paragraph 6.3 of the report) for the community governance review and indicated the proposed completion time of  5 months. The committee were asked to approve the Terms of Reference (TOR) for publication.

The committee thanked officers for their work.  They expressed the importance of timing within the review and allowing  everyone enough time to submit their responses following careful thought.

Members commented that the timetable was important to ensure all wards were represented whilst ensuring any proposed changes were understood by residents and communities. The committee were keen to hear back from as many people as possible and would really encourage everyone to respond to the review in order to gain the best results.

Following the discussions; Members voted on the recommendations.
