Scrutiny Work Programme - 2022/2023 pdf icon PDF 291 KB

Minutes:

The board was provided with an overview of the draft scrutiny work programme for the new municipal year by the Director: Policy & Governance.

Each committee had a number of standing items and a number had items for follow up or review from their previous year’s work. Suggestions for new items had been sought through a comprehensive consultation process and were presented in the document highlighted in yellow to distinguish them from those items already on the programme.

Members were supportive of the programme and agreed with the advisory comments that had been provided during the review stage. These comments suggested timings and formats for reviews. Some comments included recommendations for joint pieces of work where issues cut across committee remits, such as in the case of the Council’s transport strategy.

The state of healthcare provision in the Borough was a key concern of the Board and was expected to constitute a large piece of work for scrutiny for the year to come.

No amendments to the draft work programme were requested.
