Honorary Freedom of the Borough The Council is being asked to admit Garrison Sergeant Major Andrew ‘Vern’ Stokes OBE MVO DL to be an Honorary Freeman of the Borough in recognition of having rendered eminent service to the people of Telford and Wrekin. Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972 provides that a Council may pass a resolution to admit an honorary freeman providing that not less than two-thirds of Members voting thereon at a meeting of the Council specifically convened for this purpose vote in support.
RECOMMENDED – that Garrison Sergeant Major Andrew ‘Vern’ Stokes OBE MVO DL be admitted as an Honorary Freeman of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin. Additional documents: Minutes:
