Agenda

The Council is being asked to admit D (Shropshire Yeomanry) Squadron to be Honorary Freemen and Freewomen of the Borough in recognition of the Squadron being of distinction and being considered to have rendered eminent service to the people of Telford and Wrekin.

Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972 provides that a Council may pass a resolution to admit an honorary freeman providing that not less than two-thirds of Members voting thereon at a meeting of the Council specifically convened for this purpose vote in support.

RECOMMENDED – that the D (Shropshire Yeomanry) Squadron be admitted as an Honorary Freemen and Freewomen of the Borough of Telford and Wrekin.
