The Health Scrutiny Committee
scrutinises and monitors the planning and performance of the
Council’s adult social care services and health services
matters under the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
Its key responsibilities include
monitoring the performance of NHS Trusts that affect local people,
acting as the statutory consultee on significant NHS service
changes, participating in a Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny
Committee with Shropshire Council, and responding to referrals from
Healthwatch regarding both health and adult care
services.
The Committee also scrutinises the
Council’s performance in delivering adult social care,
reviews proposals and changes to adult care services, and considers
services that raise concerns locally.
